CONDITION In the publisher's original quarter leather binding over hard boards. Externally, a little worn. Rubbed to the boards, joints and the spine. The calf is a little rubbed at the joints, and the spine is missing two inches of calf to the tail, and has several closed tears to the head. Lightly bumped with some moderate wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Aside from some handling marks to the endpapers, pages are a little age-toned but clean throughout. I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
