Description
The S.S. Teacher's Edition The Holy Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated out of the original tongues; And with the former translations diligently compared and revised, by His Majesty's special command. Appointed to be read in churches. Published in Oxford and printed at the University Press. No date. In the family history the original owner made notations of death starting in 1829 through 1877 -- handwriting is identical for each entry. I'm guessing that the publication date for the Bible was soon after the 1877 date. Later deaths are recorded but in different hand writing. Someone has penciled in 1825 on the title page but I don't think that is the correct date of publication. The Bible is in very good condition internally with several maps in color in the back. 1,000 pages for the Old and New Testaments and 391 for Helps to the Study of the Bible , Oxford Concordance and section for family history, then maps.
