Rare Marusan 2004 Evil Monster Ebirah Miniature Model Kit ART.No.489 from Japan Description About This Items This product is rarely seen online or in stores in Japan, so if this product is sold out, it will be out of stock. We recommend that you purchase this opportunity as this is a wonderful product that is difficult to obtain. Product Development Background Marusan revived classic kaiju figures in the early 2000s to target nostalgic adult collectors. Ebirah was chosen due to its unique crustacean design and lesser commercial exploitation compared to Godzilla or Mothra. The figure mimics the look of vintage remote-controlled toys from the Showa era, though non-functional. Released in limited quantities during a niche collector boom for retro vinyl figures. ART.No.489 was part of a special mini-series emphasizing "lost kaiju" and underrepresented monsters. Rarity Released exclusively in 2004 with very limited production numbers. Not widely distributed outside Japan, increasing its scarcity in Western markets. Part of a low-run retro vinyl line not reissued since. Unique item number (ART.No.489) confirms its limited edition status. Highly sought after by Showa-era kaiju collectors and Marusan enthusiasts. Description A highly detailed miniature figure of Ebirah, modeled after its 1966 film appearance. Manufactured by Marusan in 2004 as a part of its nostalgic kaiju revival series. Features imitation remote-control elements as a homage to vintage kaiju toys. Crafted from soft vinyl, painted by hand with vibrant detailing. Ideal for display, collection, or as a rare addition to Showa-era memorabilia. Features Soft vinyl (sofubi) construction with hand-painted finish. Vintage-inspired imitation remote control aesthetics. Official Marusan product with original product code (ART.No.489). Compact and display-friendly miniature scale.
