No ownership inscriptions, but from the library of Major William Wirt Humphreys, who fought for the Confederacy and helped organize the Company B, Fourth South Carolina Infantry Regiment, also known as the "Palmetto Riflemen". Binding sound with wear, tear, staining and soiling to covers, cloth torn in places, leather chipped at lower spine, slight page toning, foxing to endpapers, occasional stain or smudge to pages, which are generally quite clean. The book arrived just as advertised. It was shrink wrapped in a box perfectly protected and on a rainy day. I was concerned about it getting wet, but it did not. In fact, it is in exactly the same condition as it was in the advertisement. The seller was excellent to deal with and I will not hesitate to do business with them again if they ever have anything I am interested in.
