Published 1779, Paris by Les Libraraires Associes. 840 pages. Text in French. With five folding maps, including a map of the world in double hemispheres. Period full leather binding, raised bands, gilt compartment decorations and title lettering, marbled end papers. Binding remains clean, tight, and sound, leather is supple, corners worn. Joints cracked at top or scuffed, but covers strongly and firmly attached. Interior contents display a pleasing age patina, largely free of age spotting. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive. A lovely book, certainly uncommon. Book measures: 7" H X 4 1/2" W. [V2356].

A beautiful map, exactly as described and it was very well-packaged. This was in no way the fault of the seller, but once the item departed, it languished in the USPS system for several days without any updated or useful tracking information being provided by USPS. In the end, it arrived four days late. Hardly a deal breaker, but I did pay $8.95 for USPS to scan the item along the way.
