Copyright 1897 Funk & Wagnalls Company. NOTE: this is not a dictionary; it is a supplement to the dictionary and consists primarily of an 88 page color map atlas. Very Good Condition hardcover book. Includes a two page color map insert as advertising (see photos). Exterior: Attractive. Brown leather on spine and corners. Brown cloth on boards. Binding is generally clean, blemishes on back panel, square and tight. Moderately shopworn. Gilt lettering with ornamental gilt outline on front. Gilt lettering on spine. Book measures about 9-1/2" wide by 12-3/4" high. Interior: Vibrant marbled endpapers are clean. Book plate on front paste down (Marvin Blakeslee, and his name card included as insert). Cloth reinforced hinges. Pages are clean, smooth, lightlytoned. No owner names. No underlining/highlighting of text or handwriting of any kind (single page has a pencil mark in bottom margin). Great color maps throughout, including many two page spreads. There are 88 pages of color maps, including all US states and territories, all in very good to near fine condition. There are 2 pages of Roentgen ray illustrations. Paginated by sections in Roman Numerals - 132 pages. Contents: Vintage reference from the late 19th century. An outstanding offer for map lovers. These maps have great old-fashioned color and detail. Includes a universal calendar for every year of the Christian Era, marginal reference index and a condensed cyclopedia of descriptive and statistical information of the various nations.
