Description
Up for auction is a 2 volume set of “Through the Dark Continent” by Henry M. Stanley. They both have very nice leather binding that is aged and worn. There is some staining on them and wear and tear around the edges. Volume I is coming apart from the spine in the front and the back but is still in one piece. There’s a small bit of wear to the pages but they look good overall, with no foxing. It has its map in the back, which is darkened in some areas. It’s splitting at the fold intersections and has a pretty large tear near the top. Volume II is more intact, but the very first page is apart from the spine. It has a fold out map in the middle that has some small tears around the edges but looks good overall. It’s missing its map in the back. I think this is a nice set that will display well.
