The third edition of this work. In the original French. Two volumes in one. Illustrated with three folding maps. A French textbook discussing Geography, Physics, and History. The information in the textbook are compliant with the program education of Lycees, a three year course of further secondary education for children between the ages of fifteen and eighteen. With three pages of publisher's adverts. Written by Casimir Raffy, who also wrote 'Lectures Historiques' and 'Lectures Geographiques'. CONDITION In a quarter calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. A few very light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot and mark. I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
