In good condition, with assorted staining, rubbing, and inscription remnants to boards. Light loss to title label on spine. Hinges remain in good condition and text block remains bound well. Some staining to pages, primarily at rear. Includes frontispiece foldout of Grecian colonies and conquests in Asia Minor, with light rubbing and wear along edges and folds. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece on Ancient Greek history by Scottish historian John Gillies (1747-1836). The shipping was fast and the book was extremely well packaged. The book itself is exactly as pictured and although rare books are expected to be expensive, I was able to get a small discount that at least covered the shipping. I'm happy with my purchase, so I can say that it was a good value. I love to find old relics that kind of come full circle to find their home. Just picked up my package from Robin Rare Books and let me start by saying WOW!!! Book as advertised for sure. the value of the book certainly dictated some care in shipping but never did I think to this extent. The packaging was incredible. bigger box than needed at first thought but after opening based on the care and multiple layers of packing It would have survived a Tank rolling over it. Very grateful for you listing and working with me on the book, true piece of history I will cherish
