Illustrated with a colour folding map to the frontispiece, and six plates. Six leaves of publisher's adverts to the front, and seventeen bound throughout, two of which are folding. Collated, lacking one plate, and thirteen pages of the adverts to the front, the adverts to the rear, and some of the adverts bound throughout the work - different copies have different collations of the bound-in adverts, but it is common to see between twenty-five and twenty-seven adverts. A brilliant history of Warwickshire. William West delves deeply into the history of the county, alongside an essential and informative directory. The directory provides a unique insight into business in the first decades of the nineteenth century, during the Industrial Revolution. Also including itineraries showing different trips across the county, and concise biographies on William Camden, John Speed, and William Dugdale. CONDITION In a half morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, smart , with very light rubbing to the joints. Very minor bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some scattered spots. The title page to page vi are working loose. Neat tape repairs to the reverse of the folding map. Overall Condition: Very Good GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good. Some more serious faults as will be described in the condition report under 'condition' Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair Fair - As with good only above but with other faults leaving a compromised copy even after repair Poor - Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete. This now sits alongside a companion volume, another work of Worcestershire historian and antiquarian, John Noak. I very much looking forward to reading it.
