Some of the places included are Buckinghamshire, Staffordshire, Dorsetshire, Cornwall, Oxford, Essex, and Lincolnshire. Illustrated with a folding frontispiece of a map of England and Wales, and twenty-eight plates. Written by Isaac Taylor, was a historical writer, artist, and inventor. The third edition. Collated, complete. Collated from Jisc from a copy held at the University of Cambridge Libraries. Two pages of adverts to the rear. CONDITION In the original quarter calf binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Extremities are a little worn with some off of paper and bumping. A small amount of loss of leather to the head and tail of the spine. Light marks and rubbing to the boards, and light rubbing to the leather. Minor bump to the head of the rear board. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with the occasional spot. Small closed tear to the folding map. Prior owner's ink inscription to the half-title. Overall Condition: Good GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good. Some more serious faults as will be described in the condition report under 'condition' Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair Fair - As with good only above but with other faults leaving a compromised copy even after repair Poor - Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.     I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
