Includes a concise account of the history of the metropolis. A useful pocket companion. CONDITION In a full calf rebacked binding with new endpapers. Externally, a little worn with rubbing to the boards and some loss to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with spots. Bound without one plate. Folding maps is reinforced to the reverse, and curiously bound in upside down.     I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
