Overall good, with superficial rubbing and wear to boards, primarily along edges and corners. Chipping to title label on spine and loss of most of volume label. Loss to binding at head of spine. Some cracking to hinges at front and rear. Text block remains in good condition with periodic wear, primarily at front. Modern binder’s tape and restoration work around front hinge. Nicely illustrated with a variety of foldout engravings. Illustrations and maps present as issued with light wear, primarily along edges and corners. Light markings and marginalia, primarily at front. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. The shipping was fast and the book was extremely well packaged. The book itself is exactly as pictured and although rare books are expected to be expensive, I was able to get a small discount that at least covered the shipping. I'm happy with my purchase, so I can say that it was a good value. I love to find old relics that kind of come full circle to find their home.
