A rare book on the coins of Ancient Greece printed in 1683. Text in Latin and Italian. The text is divided into two parts, the first a history of Magna Graecia, in Latin, and the second, a history of the Kingdom of Naples, in Italian. 13 numismatic plates depict over 120 different ancient coins used primarily in Naples and Calabria, and 5 maps (including one in four unmounted parts entitled "Magan Graecia et Italiae Pars" showing Puglia, Calabria, Campania, and Naples) and one of Sicily, engraved on copper. The maps are decorated with boats and compasses, as well as the coats of arms of the regions. All maps and plates are present. Prosperi Parisii, Romani Patricia, & V. J. Previous owner name stamped in red ink on the back of the title page. No bookplates (though there is a bookseller label), or writing. Binding is strong. Faint waterstain to lower margins.
